Thank you so much for this drink. I reeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaallly like it, to begin with, and I'm very pleased to be introduced to Aquavit and to find a delicious use for a very large bottle of yellow Chartreuse I inadvertently acquired. In Washington, where I live, we have Neanderthal liquor laws with the state in charge, so it's hard (or may be impossible) to get the Krogstad. But the drink is wonderful with Linie aquavit, which the store manager told me is a pretty traditional formulation. I love the caraway coming through the lemony-herbal bouquet, an unusual flavor composite that I'm looking forward to presenting to the cocktail connoisseurs I know.

I saw a sign for "Akvavit" at my favorite wine and spirit shop the other day and was intrigued... Anise and caraway? Sounds good... I've been delving into herbal spirits lately.

I was really impressed by the Aviation gin. The Krogstad seemed too dual noted as opposed to the more complex other Aquavits I have. Luckily I love star anise and caraway, but I wished there were some other flavors in the mix (that I could detect at least). Perhaps mixing it with gin was indeed the way to solve this.

Greatest. Drink name. EVAR!

At my bar you'll have to sing the song to order it.

This drink sounds lovely, and we shall make it tonight. I'd been meaning to come up with things to do with our lovely new bottles of Krogstad and Aviation, and you've raised the bar rather high. :)
