Antedote for a long, hot summer

Here’s a crisp, refreshing drink for summer afternoons. I’m certain this isn’t original, but I can’t remember where I ganked the idea from.

Lemon Cooler

2 oz. gin 1 oz. limoncello (preferably homemade) 1 oz. lime juice Build in a tall glass, top with tonic water, and stir gently. Dash in some bitters, too, if you’re so inclined.

Well, talk about timely. My wife just brought home a bottle of Limoncello (i.e. NOT homemade), brandished it at me and said, “here make something with this.”
She meant use it to make Sidecars, as we were taught by one of the bartenders I profiled on my blog, (#1, Todd). But I tire of Sidecars pretty fast, and it’s a big bottle. So I went searching for something new….
I looked around the web and found nothing that looked good to me. I had backshelved the project, and low and behold I find this simple little beauty appearing on a blog I regularly read! I’m trying it tonight. Thanks.
